Well I have been wanting one of these babies for some time to help keep a 24-7 watch on my rural property. This one certianly fits the bill.
The wireless part is a must have too me.
I had this business up and running in less than 10 minutes. Mounting it took alittle longer.
PROS: Very unadorned to use.
Very well built looks commercial feature.
The nighttime time range is much surpass than rated. Atleast 250 ft.
The image is sweet excellent.
I just plugged it into my DVR and instant recordings.
Wireless signal is a huge bounus, less wires.
Neg: Can see the red LEDS at nighttime so not really stealth.
Mic sound range is somewhat small but still useable.
Wish it had a long life rechargable batter in the camera somwhow.
All in a very excellent camera that can watch 24-7 while I am Not!!

We needed a way to get audio/video from our church sanctuary (in a log cabin building) to our club hall and nursery, across over 100 feet of open space with two thick exterior log walls between the unit and the receiver. We are very pleased with the range, the video and sound feature for the price. We also just plugged it in and were able to use it without any complicated setup. The video is a small jumpy – not very smooth – but since our main purpose was audio, that’s not a huge complaint.

Never owned a camera like this one before, nor do know anyone who has. When you look at your monitor, you see cars, birds, or anything that moves, they jump or skip across the screen. It never looks like it’s live. Looks like a recording with a step by step frame shot.
Another business this Lorex LW2201 will not do is have live motion part of the time. It appears that
it had taking a cam shot and saved it in it reminiscence, (which it does not suppose to have a reminiscence)
and is showed on the monitor. You have someone walk in adjoin of the camera, and it will not
show it on the monitor at times, instead it will show what it saw hours before and freeze up on
that. I called Lorex and they were very kind and sent me another one, and i had to return it
back also because it was the same kind of camera with the same problems.

I have used Lorex harvest in the past and have been pleased with them. I wanted a camera on my detached garage to view people entering my yard. I washed-out hours trying to find a place to mount the receiver. I would get full strength reception within 50 feet if there were no obstacles — my hand, leaves on a tree and a ceiling overhang all degrade the signal to “connecting”. I would avoid buying this product. To rule out 2.4ghz interference, I disconnected my Linksys WRT610N 2.4ghz router and Panasonic DECT cordless system. Neither made a difference.
I am very disappointed that the system does not work when mounted on two ceiling overhangs when they are in direct sight within 30 feet of each other. I’m returning this one.

Overall, this camera works well both during the day and the nighttime. The image is sweet clear in both situations. The fact that the system is expandable to up to 4 cameras is a plus. If you do have more than one camera, you can show sources one at a time, automatically rotate between them, or show four metaphors at once in a quad view.
There are a few minor disappointments with this camera though:
- The red LEDs can be seen at nighttime, so if you’re looking for a camera to be stealth, this isn’t a excellent choice. Not to mention that it’s also a small girthy.
- The red LEDs seem to drown out the edges of the image at times. Not to the point of being unusable though.
- The frame rate seems a small low. While it’s not too terrible (it doesn’t look like its taking snapshots like a slow webcam), it also isn’t 30fps.
- You won’t be able to mount this inside a house pointing through a window for a link of reasons. First, there is really no mounting option for that. And second, the LEDs reflect back into the camera by the window at nighttime, so all you see is a bunch of lights.
- Image viewing is via RCA or BNC. You won’t be able to connect this to your computer for viewing/recording if you don’t have a video card with RCA or BNC inputs. There is a small port on the receiver labeled USB, but the manual says it is “unused”. It would have been nice to be able to connect this camera via USB to my computer for viewing/recording.
- Sound feature is not the best.
Still, I give this camera 4 stars for the image feature and simplicity, as well as for being able to be linked to 3 other cameras.
